It’s a great time for this industry: the retail industry is predicted to have the largest job growth over the next ten years in the city of Chicago. Of the retail expenditures, more than 1/3 of it in the U.S. is made in franchise businesses. To support the growing demand for services and information in retail industries, the WBDC is offering the Franchise Partnership and Retail Initiative (FPRI) to help existing and aspiring entrepreneurs with retail and/or franchise businesses. Join us for this new and exciting initiative!

With this new initiative, the WBDC, with the support of the Partnership for New Communities , will increase the number and quality of retail and franchise businesses in Chicago with a special focus on Bronzeville, the South Loop, and the Near West. Parallel to the Partnership’s vision to create thriving communities with economic and racial diversity, the WBDC is helping these communities and others create a vibrant retail sector.

Anyone who plans to start or expand a retail and/or franchise business.  Whether you are just starting out or planning to expand to a new line of store, the WBDC has experts ready to assist you in your business development..

FPRI has a diverse staff of experienced and expert business consultants eager to assist women build their businesses. The WBDC can help you shape your business idea in many different ways including one-on-one business counseling, high-powered and high impact workshops specifically built for those interested in and already in retail and/or franchise, access to information about financing and loan packaging, and much more.
